#Macpass org license
Again…this is terrible for individual users and all their fluff about how everybody that buys gets the subscription version is just marketingspeak lies…they have deliberately hidden the ability to buy a stand alone license for several years at least so naturally folks sign up for the subscription since the main page hasn’t said anything about stand alone licenses for a long time. However…I can live with that if I have to.
#Macpass org for mac
Having a single code base for the back end I have real issue with…but a crappy non-native macOS front end is a terrible idea for Mac users. That ensures a steadier revenue stream for 1PW the company…and I’ve no problem with that at all…but it comes at the expense of individual users. Nothing wrong with that either…but their recent improvements…if one can call them that, which I do not…are clearly aimed at the enterprise market because once a business gets their app and service embedded into the company it’s going to be a real pain for the business customers to switch to something else. Nothing wrong with using their servers for sync…and I’m not worried about the company going away…but to my mind they’ve clearly decided that they really aren’t interested in single users anymore compared to their growing business and enterprise market. I’ve had a Family account at 1PW for a couple of years…but am still using DropBox for sync of my data in stand alone vaults because I would rather do it that way. It will import from a text file…and presumably one could get info from 1PW into it that way…but I haven’t tried it and as I said would not recommend it at this point in time.

Add into that the fact that he’s the only guy at Selznick Software…not a fault of his but clearly it’s not an ongoing business concern like 1PW is…and at this point I can’t recommend the product.
#Macpass org update
All of that and a little digging to see what else he might be doing leads me to believe that the app is almost abandonware…he might update it if it broke with a macOS update but there won’t be any new features, won’t be any improvement in the sync process which only works sometimes anyway. In addition…he’s a one man band at …and the last update to the web site was in January of 2020…and the last update to the app is from August of 2020 for Catalina compatibility.

It makes it considerably less useful than 1PW was until v8. He’s not interested…not complaining about that as it’s his app and he should do whatever he wants…but. I’ve talked to the author numerous times over the years and suggested improving the sync options…which in my mind is the single biggest flaw.
#Macpass org password
Password Wallet…as I said it’s a great if somewhat limited product.
